Happy 4rt Anniversary!!!!!A long Journey....

Published by Bilincas under , , , , , , on 12:53 PM
First of all i just wanna say to all of you sucker's that didn't believe i could make it this far....I'M STILL HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't spend this day without writing something here....it is a very special day because it marks 4 years since i left home (Portugal for the ones who don't know), on the 16th of January of 2005 i flew early in the morning in the horrible winter day, which was refered at the time has "the worst day of my life" leaving behind the 3 people i loved the most besides all my friends and family....i came to realise too things after that, 1st that i only loved 2 of those people and 2nd that it was definitely not "the worst day of my life" but that it was the day in which my life would change forever and i'm very happy for that....because i needed change....

It was the beginning of a Journey of self-discovery facing a new life, new environment, new reality, well....basically everything new....i must admit it wasn't always easy(it sill isn't sometimes by the way) but it was one of my dreams and i had to go trough with it because we cannot pass on the opportunities life provides us with and specially not give up....

Some of my friends allways tought i had this wonderfull life because they obviously never stand by me along the way so they just saw the good parts made from the stories i told them, but i can say today that i'm very proud of myself for leaving all i had behind, alone with 2 bags filled with hopes and dreams.....i'm even happy to remember all the bad times that i had because all of that good and bad brought me to were i am today so i don't regret it and i would have done it again....i think this journey finally allowed me to be my true self and not what other's wanted me to be....

There's so much i can say of this 4 wonderfull years but i'd prefer not too, i prefer to keep them with me and the many people i lived it with (i hope they don't tell it too otherwise i might be embarassed).....

Just to finalise i would like to say i've made some amazing friends (still do, by the way), met some wonderfull people and will keep all of you in my BIG heart and i hope all of you keep me too.....

Dublin, Brussels & Amsterdam....What's next??Only the future will tell....i plan on going with the flow and live one day at a time....that's the way to go....

A piece of free advice for everyone: "We are all much stronger that we think or believe, only trough the real challenges of our lives we will see our true strenght"....i came to realise that....

I'll see you around....

Setting up our Christmas Tree - 8th December 2008

Published by Bilincas under , , , on 2:53 PM
I know it's a little bit late but better late than never....
I just need to tell has much as i can about this wonderfull journey that was 2008....

On the 8th of December 5 people, Laura, Laura, Roberto, Romulo & Me (i guess the only reader of my blog knows my name) got together to honour 1 tradition: the building of the Christmas tree. Using a basic principle but mixing traditions from 3 different countries (for the curious ones - Portugal, Italy, Netherlands) the night started with great dinner (many thanks to the chef....you know who you are) served with red wine, followed by a great desert and then coffee and the now traditional "Friends Whisky", the tree assembly started.

The girls made some decorations and the guys started with putting the tree standing (sounds bad but no one was injured on this procedure), and after an hour or so the tree was finished with all the necessary items. The star on top was put in by Romulo, because the best prop for the tree was the one he got.

In the end a Big Big egg-shaped chocolate was broken and our Christmas officially begun by eating a marvelous italian chocolate.

Thanks everyone for such a delightful night and to allow to enjoy again one of the traditions i was so used to back home.

hugs & kisses

Maaaannnnn....I wanted to post something about the party alll week but i had to upload the pictures from the iPhone and i'm known to be a tiny bit lazy....better late then never....let's take into consideration this pictures are taken from a phone so the quality is not the best....

Here they are....

Anyway the party was amazing!!!!I was in for Black Sun Empire but honestly they were not even my favourites this time, none of the good stuff like Future Frame, Arrakis or Driving Insane....they were still good tought.
This time my favourite was Sub Focus, it was the 1st time i saw them and it was an amazing performance.....the rest was ok....
I was happy to know that Henrique, Dome and Wout enjoyed it as well so maybe we can all return next year....
Funny thing was when i went to pick up my bike to go home, it was not there anymore....only the lock was there, it was cut with a saw in the middle of leidseplein on a friday night....amazing what this people do for bikes in holland....there goes my 3rd bike....the best of the story was not even that....but it's too crazy to be told here (hint - crazy people like hot "drinks"....LOL!!!!).
Well i guess that's the way it goes in life, nothing is ever perfect....

Amsterdam Dance Event 2008

Published by Bilincas under , on 6:18 PM
So next week is the Amsterdam Dance Event on of the biggest club festival events of the world (probably the biggest) which occurs every year, spread by some (about 40) of the finest places (clubs, cafe's, lounges, art galleries, etc....) in amsterdam with over 700 DJ's.

It's quite an interesting event that also includes a conference, it goes to it's thirtheenth edition this year....
I've been in some of the venues two years ago and it was great.
Very interesting lineup, maybe i should check out a few of them this time as well.
